Carrie Ogilvie-Brown - Nasty Athlete

Carrie Ogilvie-Brown - Nasty Athlete

Today, we’re super excited to introduce our new CrossFit Athlete Carrie Ogilvie-Brown. Carrie is a British competitive Athlete who has been doing CrossFit for 5 years but competitively for 2 and a half. We’ve been watching Carrie grow from strength to strength. And have always found Carrie super friendly, fired up with her training, and we just love her pain faces when she competes (it just shows she’s pushing hard 😉). She’s everything we believe in and she suits Nasty Lifestyle perfectly and we couldn’t be happier to have her join the crew.

We caught up with Carrie earlier today to ask her about her training and background, and here’s what she had to say:

How did you get into CrossFit?

I fell in love with the sport when my friend introduced me to it (he’s now my coach and we’ve been on this journey together, and wouldn't do it with anyone else). I hated sport at school, and I’d never done sport until I started doing CrossFit. I used to get embarrassed to workout in front of people, but now I feel like the harder I work, the uglier the faces I pull, and the more I sweat, it shows that we're driven and determined. And I embrace it. It’s given me the confidence to be happy in my own skin, and be proud to be an individual.

What are your current goals?

We are currently working towards the open, as it’s a great opportunity to find where the holes are in my performance to work on and to become better.

What makes you train harder?

I love finding weaknesses to be improved on and that’s what keeps us chasing my own performance.

What makes you want to compete against other Athletes?

I love competing because that’s the time you can put all your hard work out there, the feeling of walking off the floor knowing you have done the best you could do at that moment, is like no other for me.

Age: 29
Location: Cumbria, UK
Box: CrossFit CA22 Northern Warrior

We’re excited to see where this year takes Carrie towards the CrossFit Open. You can keep up to date with her next comps and training via her Instagram page here.
